Vesak, also known as Buddha Day, is one of the most significant and sacred celebrations for Theravada Buddhists, marking the birth, enlightenment, and passing into Nirvana of the Buddha. This auspicious day, typically observed during the full moon in May, offers an opportunity for reflection on the Buddha's teachings, the nature of wisdom, compassion, and liberation from suffering.

The Ekoji Buddhist Sangha community, invites you to the first annual Open House at our Temple and Meditation Hall, located at 3411 Grove Avenue in Richmond, Sunday May 18th, from 1pm-4pm. You're welcome to stop by anytime during the event if you’d like to learn more about Buddhism or meditation, or have questions about a particular tradition.
