Join us for a hike in community. We will hit the trail at 11 a.m., so be sure to be there a little early. Bring a lunch, depending on weather, we can enjoy a meal in each other’s company upon completion of the walk.
Marjolein Janssen and Carolyn Stachowski will be offering a 6 week course to raise our awareness of the complexities of racial conditioning in our society. There will be some reading suggestions for each week, that we can use as a basis for our discussions.
During this Daylong Retreat we will be exploring the topic of Wise (or Right) Speech. Speech is one of the most common ways we express ourselves, whether through conversations, texts, social media, or the internal dialogues we have with ourselves. Often, we don’t pay much attention to how we speak, yet our words shape our experience, influence our relationships, and reflect our inner state.
This is a unique retreat designed for those who practice the generosity of service, whether through teaching mindfulness in carceral institutions, advocating for climate justice, striving for social change, or being a caregiver to a loved one. This retreat provides a sanctuary in both silent meditation and mindful community dialogue to reflect and rejuvenate our practice.
