New Year’s Day Fellowship Walk

This event is led by one of our community members and offered at no cost. State Parks are free on New Year’s day, so there won’t be a fee for entering the park.

Description
We will start the fellowship walk at 11 a.m. from the CCC Museum. Here is a link to the Pocahontas State Park Trails and Facilities map.  The CCC Museum is located in the Central Area inset.   

Friends, family, and dogs are welcome.

Please RSVP at info@imcrva.org. We will use the contact information retrieved from your RSVP in the case of weather forcing a cancellation.  

We will walk the Beaver Lake Trail.  It is a mild, 2.5 mile trail limited to pedestrians and that begins behind the CCC Museum.  Wear shoes that can stand up to a few wet spots. Bring a lunch to enjoy in the company of others after the hike and in one of the picnic shelters.

Park rangers tell us that New Year’s Day is one of the busiest of the year. Plan for travel time to the park including finding parking. Do not expect to park at the CCC Museum unless you are an early “early bird”!
