In the Service of Life: Caring for the Caring – Retreat
Teachers:
Marjolein Janssen and Carolyn Stachowski
Description
This is a unique retreat designed for those who practice the generosity of service, whether through teaching mindfulness in carceral institutions, advocating for climate justice, striving for social change, or being a caregiver to a loved one. This retreat provides a sanctuary in both silent meditation and mindful community dialogue to reflect and rejuvenate our practice.
Amidst a world of adversity, both personal and global, it is essential to cultivate inner resilience and compassion. Through silent meditation and meaningful small and big group discussions, participants will have the opportunity to look deeply at their intentions and to further their understanding of the unwholesome roots that may hinder their well-being. We will take time embracing the Buddha’s teachings on kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity, helping attendees navigate their challenges with a heart full of wisdom and balance.
Reconnect with your inner source of strength and renewal, and foster the qualities that sustain your service to others. This retreat is an invitation to nurture yourself in community- please join us!
