(Google Maps)Cost: a donation (dana) for the IMCR group and for the teacherSuggested donation for teacher: sliding scale: $10 – $70 (see below for more information)Teacher: Bruce PardoeRegistration: No need to register\, walk-in \nGeneral Description of the Monthly Sunday SitThis monthly event will be different each time. Sometimes we gather from 3:00 – 4:30 pm at Ekoji for a community sit\, reflection and sharing. Sometimes we meet for a half-day retreat from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. At other times we may offer a “Sunday Unplug” day\, starting on Zoom in the morning to set our intentions for the day\, followed by individual practice at home and closing at Ekoji and on Zoom in the afternoon. How the day will unfold\, what themes or topics are being discussed\, etc.\, might be different each Sunday. Below more information about this Sunday’s event. In the list of events on our website is more information on each Sunday’s practice. \nThis monthly event is a wonderful opportunity to practice meditation\, reflect on the Dhamma\, receive support from the community\, and to be a support for others by offering your presence.  \nBeginners and experienced meditators are welcome to join. For those new to IMCR we offer an online orientation. Additionally\, beginning meditators are encouraged to familiarize themselves with Vipassana (Insight) meditation through the series of videos on this page. \nThis Sunday’s Event DescriptionThe Buddha provided the wanderer Bahiya with a profoundly direct and brief model that dislodged his familiar sense of self. Upon hearing this teaching\, Bahiya instantly and fully realized the fundamentally awake\, free nature of reality. Could we directly experience a hint of what Bahiya did? Could we open a thread in our practice that leads in this direction? We will explore this and more in this half-day retreat. \nGenerosity for the Teacher and the IMCR GroupThere are two ways to practice generosity (dana) for this retreat: \n\nGenerosity for the teacher: the suggested donation for the teacher is: $10 – $70 (sliding scale).\nGenerosity for the IMCR group: we appreciate donations of any amount you feel comfortable and generous giving.\n\nYour donation to the teacher provides support to allow the teacher to continue offering these teachings\, and your donation to the IMCR group allows the continuation of the IMCR group. Please give as feels appropriate and generous for you. Please delight in your generosity and know that the dharma continues to be offered to you and others through our collective acts of sharing. All are welcome\, no donation is required \nMore information about the concept of dana\, generosity\, in Buddhism. \nQuestions?Don’t hesitate to contact us. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n	Categories:	\n Half-Day Retreat\, Monthly Sunday Sit	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	Organizer\n	IMCR\n	\n	View Organizer Website \n\n\n	\n	Email:\n \n info@imcrva.org \n \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	Ekoji\n	\n	\n\n3411 Grove Avenue\n	\n \n Richmond\,\n\n	VA\n\n	23221\n\n	United States\n\n\n\n\n	+ Google Map \n\n\n	\n \n \n \n\n\n	\n	View Venue Website \n\n\n\n	\n\n\n\n \n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n \n\n Monthly Sunday Sit - "Sunday Unplug" Day	\n\n\n \n	\n Daylong Retreat: Caring for the Heart-Mind\, Caring for the World

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n	Categories:	\n Half-Day Retreat\, Monthly Sunday Sit	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	Organizer\n	IMCR\n	\n	View Organizer Website \n\n\n	\n \n info@imcrva.org \n \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	Ekoji\n	\n	\n\n3411 Grove Avenue\n	\n \n Richmond\,\n\n	VA\n\n	23221\n\n	United States\n\n\n\n\n	+ Google Map \n\n\n	\n \n \n \n\n\n	\n	View Venue Website \n\n\n\n	\n\n\n\n \n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n \n\n Monthly Sunday Sit - "Sunday Unplug" Day	\n\n\n \n	\n Daylong Retreat: Caring for the Heart-Mind\, Caring for the World
